WordCamp Brighton: How WordPress Helped To Fuel My Community

BDW Does WordCamp Brighton 2017

An amazing opportunity came up recently for me to speak about my experiences with WordPress at the second ever WordCamp Brighton.

WordCamps are informal conferences organised by passionate WordPress users all over the world. They’re a chance for everyone to learn, share knowledge and celebrate WordPress together.

I was really exited (and scared!) to share with these amazing WordPress developers, designers, coders and marketers what they had contributed to by enabling communities and small businesses like Brighton Digital Women through their work. I also wanted to recruit some more BDW-ers for the gang!

These are my slides from the day…

Shout out to Cobb Digital, Pragmatic Web and Eagle Labs Brighton for also being supporters and enablers of our growing community. Without them it would have been nigh on impossible. Big love!

I’m the founder of Brighton Digital Women and love being able to develop my knowledge by collaborating with other digital Brightonians. I’m a rare born and bred Brightonian and will NEVER leave!

I love to be an active part of Brightons wonderful culture, in particular The Great Escape, Brighton Digital Festival and enjoying a flat white in The Laines whilst listening to the melodic stylings of the birdy whistle man.
