BDW Talks About Careers & Digital Job Roles

Let’s talk about last night

We had our 16th Brighton Digital Women monthly meetup last night at Eagle Labs at Preston Circus, a stone’s throw away from our normal venue of Cafe Plenty. The building and the people within it are a real hub of creativity, learning and community building. While we were upstairs sipping prosecco and munching on beige snacks, downstairs there was the Makers Club: kids being taught about technology and creating robotics! It’s such a great space and we were thrilled to be there. Many thanks to Eagle Labs Brighton for hosting us!

Our talks were on an accidental but helpful theme of careers and unique digital job roles, and we’ll get each of them posted on here in due course. For now though, enjoy a gallery of images taken by Matt Daley of Circulate Digital. He’ll be coming along in December to talk about ‘micro moments’ and the state of search, which is going to be hyper relevant to all our attendees. We’ll email, tweet and Facebook out invites and more info in the next week.

Thanks to all who came along and contributed to a fab and insightful evening. I think we’ll probably be bringing up the pay rise discussion again soon!

I’m the founder of Brighton Digital Women and love being able to develop my knowledge by collaborating with other digital Brightonians. I’m a rare born and bred Brightonian and will NEVER leave!

I love to be an active part of Brightons wonderful culture, in particular The Great Escape, Brighton Digital Festival and enjoying a flat white in The Laines whilst listening to the melodic stylings of the birdy whistle man.
